These photos were taken at the Canberra Floriade Festival
On the weekend of September 29th and 30th, 2001, we went to Canberra for a surprise visit to Neil's brother, Robert. We left home at approximately 8pm Friday and took the Prices Highway. Unfortunatley service stations are not the 24 hour kind along that stretch and our tank of fuel made it to Cann River, where we had to spend an uncomfortable few hours in the car, waiting for fuel. We arrived in Canberra at 9am on Saturday. Really tired this first day, we didn't do much other than visit with Robert but we did have a wonderful Chinese meal from the Chinese take-away in Queanbeyan. The following day, Robert took us to the Floriade flower festival and for a drive to see Parliament House, many of the foreign embassy buidings and to the National Library. We left Canberra at 7pm but took the Hume highway home, refilling the fuel tank at Albury. As soon as we crossed the border into Victoria, the weather was stormy and it rained all the way. We arrived home at 2.30am Monday.

There was absolutely no parking space left at the main entrance so Robert parked over the other side and we walked across the bridge to the festival.
